Of Pork Barrel, Odette and Zamboanga

On Pork Barrel

Faced with this issue, I am at a point of indecision. Who's trying who? And who's downright innocent to point a finger with righteous indignation to the guilty party(ies). It is disappointing that at the end of a long day thinking your brains out, getting your salary after taxes and living off of what was left (hoping that you can save enough to travel in style at least every two years), some scum travel in excess off the pockets of the likes of us (who make honest labor just to have a tiny fraction of what they are enjoying). My heart!

The inquiry is a good start. Hope it ends in jail, like the "common" (penniless) criminals, for those who ought to pay.

Odette

I can't complain. Flood waters that dissipate as fast as the torrential rains come, early mornings when public transport is scarce due to cold, power outage - these are petty compared to the devastation that other parts of the country have been experiencing. Negros has been blessed these past decades and was spared from destructive calamities. Not being able to help (even in prayer) disturbs me; I hope all be well soon.

Zamboanga

The unrest down south is man-made and clearly can be helped. If only the perpetrators would stop and look at the havoc this 2-week-long "war" has wrought - wasted taxpayers money, destroyed properties, disrupted services and most especially lost loved ones. Can't we just talk this out?
