a lot has happened this past week, my tortoise typing speed could not keep up.
sunday dawned dark and cloudy. we (lira, pats and myself) succumbed to the lure of the tiny living room couch sitting through cd’s of harry potter, devouring “tinolang manok” for lunch and “pork chops adobo” for supper”. when ping joined in, the apartment felt congested trying to contain the four of us (considering its size), it was decided that a spell outdoors would do us some great deal of good. so to ayala we went meeting up with the rest of the imds girls for the mitsumi fireworks display. some workout it was. for 15 minutes of bliss, wondering how the chemical geniuses managed to create such pyrotechniques (despite the fact that it’s no competition to that of conjured by then gandalf-the-grey), we have invested so much. it was a long brisk walk from ayala to andok’s in mabolo intersection along with the throng that exited from the event venue (i pity the business park landscape for what it has to endure). the possibility of catching a puj there was nil, hitching a ride or walk all the way to nowhere were our only options. we chose the former electing an open cab with a family of four in it. the father was reluctant at first, but sensing our need, he acquiesced eventually. our being an all-girl crew was our saving grace. in all excitement that we hurdled the first obstacle, it didn’t occur to us that a.s. fortuna would be a bottle neck for mactan island denizens. we could have avoided the walkathon (from chow king to maguikay flyover) altogether since the family were headed to consolacion anyway. what a bummer!
