yes, this is my fourth attempt to publish this entry, the previous times being sorely tested by the voltage fluctuation which i've been told to be frequent during the festivities' peak..apparently this is the aftermath of it...that or that the supernatural just doesn't approve of this subject...hehehe.
after a really trying day at apo island, i took the 5:20 pm ceres trip to bacolod via mabinay, throwing caution to the wind. i napped in between worrying if i will have transport in the last 12 km leg of my 5-hour land trip. i was alone most of the time on the two seaters i took on the second row from the dashboard, on the right side of the bus. it was a boring trip, unless the roller coaster ride along the mabinay road can qualify for an exciting adventure. well, i might have enjoyed the dips and climbs and swerves and the screeching and stench of burning rubber but it had my head ache for a spell.
there was an exciting turn of event though as we resumed the trip after a real short stop in kabankalan. i spied a sweet smelling creature hailing the bus. who would have thought that he would elect to take the empty seat beside me (like the bus was only half full...urhm). and i was right. he did smell clean and fresh (as one who just got out of the shower). and i was 'conscious' (i never knew before last night that i am capable of this...nor even knew what the word meant) for a spell about how i smell having been in the sea all day (i changed while waiting for our ride to dumaguete city from malatapay without the benefit of a good rinse, by the road with only a 'tapis' for concealment...how's that for a first too?) but i worried too much. not long after he's settled, i felt a deadweight pressing me on the window pane. i wasn't sure if he was really sleepy or he was just trying to punish me for not giving up my window seat (i thought i saw him try take it from me). well the body heat was a comfort in dispelling the cold summer breeze and he did smell good (did i mention that already?), but i bet he didn't know that...hehehe
and as a consolation, he did look apologetic (about his being a bit of a prick...but a welcome prick)when i excused myself to pass by him at my stop.
