On a whim (seems like I'm doing things on whim lately) coupled with this sense of adventure of taking a quick plunge into the unknown, I said a resounding "YES" to an "invite" to take the PHIL-IT-GCE.
The ad said it all and the qualifications made no mention of anything that was relevant to my training and experience.
Like I always do, I played to my strength (my strong understanding of Math and English), forgetting to take chances (like opting to skip numbers which answer I had no freaking idea instead of guessing, which was wrong of course if my objective included getting a high score).
For a non-programmer, with a very vague idea about software except for bits of terminologies and symbols here and there (echo for php, println for java and cout for c++), I did quite well, After all I made it to the 20% who passed. All is well!
