Post Rockin' Concert

I must still be in daze to have ordered these for a post-concert meal. Imagine: arroz caldo, chicken BBQ pizza and cappuccino. What?!?! Yeah, I know right? What was I thinking? Apparently, I wasn't thinking straight IF I were thinking at all.

You see, after receiving that meet and greet message from Bamboo's manager, we decided to pass the time in some 24/7 secure place and we found ourselves inside Business Inn. Two hours passed and we saw Bamboo's tweet about taking some shut eye. Bummer, that meant the meeting was a no go. With heavy hearts, we decided to call it a "night".

At the South Bus Terminal, the earliest trip to leave was the Cebu-bound trip via Kabankalan. Since most of the seats were occupied by sleeping "passengers", I decided to take it. The thought of alighting at San Enrique before 4 am though wasn't a welcome thought so I asked for a ticket to Hinigaran. I paid P78 for the road trip (hahaha!).

At Hinigaran, the first bus leaves at 4 am. I counted the time and I should reach Bangga Patyo by 430 which to me is a safe time to be on foot. Hahaha! By 5, I was home, quickly updated Kz and Omil about how my adventure ended and plopped on the floor to get some sleep :)

Crushed by a Rock-Star

It was the most blissful six minutes of my life. Shocked, I was rooted to my seat the whole time. All I managed to shout to the top of my lungs for three or four times was "Bamboo".

Sis mentioned, the advertisement was for Sarah G's concert. Bff brought that fact to my attention as well, But what the hell. It's been three years since I saw Bamboo perform live. So with the hope of seeing him again, what's P850 anyways???

The concert started late which is both good and bad. It turned out that we had no tickets yet. I had to go to SM to see availability only to find that they were pulled out earlier in the day. At La Salle, the tickets were sold at the gate and the queue looks like nobody's dying to buy them so I waited for Joh before getting ours. By the looks of the people milling around the flag poles, the show wasn't going to start very soon so we went to the Stinger's Food Court to grab dinner. We tarried until 9 pm and it was not surprising that the chance of getting seats at the front was no longer possible. It was already 10 when Sarah performed her first number, Instead of some entertaining front act band or solo, local sponsors staged some contests promoting their products :( And it was an hour and a half later that Bamboo appeared with a duet (Iris) followed by solo. Sigh!

In fairness to Sarah G though, she did deliver. Her numbers were well prepared including the dance numbers by the GForce. It was the electronic backdrop and the lights that caught my attention first,  then the accompanying band led by Louie Ocampo and her rockin' version of "Anak". Watching the performance was like watching the MTV except that performance of the other guest. Overall though, I am glad I watched (I can see ace's big smile with this positive review).

The Catch

Even to this date, I still find it queer that people seem relieved that I decided to keep my distance from something that they somehow find to have enslaved me for so very long.

The funny thing is that I didn't feel that way at all. It's crazy!

This one though is a big surprise. A common friend asked about him and in jest I said, "We're divorced". His exclamation set me off my axis. "Mau lang kay nabugtawan ka na!" And I went, "What?"

I sensed that he knew something was going on but I never thought that he had something to say about it.

The thing is that if he knew (or noticed) that something has been going on, who else does? Do I still have to worry about the others would say now that it's over?

Darn!

So much about keeping things in absolute secrecy...I guess I'm not the wallflower I believe myself to be.

Man of Steel

"Was I in the wrong cinema?"
"Did I get the correct ticket and time for Man of Steel?"

Those were the questions I asked myself when I was greeted by the presence of Russel Crowe on the big screen. We were 15 minutes late for the 2:50 pm screening and I did not read any print or online write up on this latest installment of Superman (my favorite superhero of all time, fyi).

More surprises came: Kevin Costner as Jonathan, Diane Lane as Martha, Amy Adams as Lois (I find her too sweet and damsel-in-distress-ish for the role though), Laurence Fishburne as Perry. However, Jimmy Olsen went missing.

Twists from the stories that I grew up with: Superman and Lois' first kiss happened at the latter's apartment and not on a warzone, Jonathan died of a heart attack and not for playing hero during a twister to mention a few.

Storyline? If you ask me, Man of Steel answered the questions on: How Kal-el ended up on earth? Why is Jor-El able to communicate with his adult son when he is already dead? (something I read from Siegel and Shuster's book eons ago) Why is Zod so evil? What does the phantom zone look like? How did Zod get to earth (he did in Christopher Reeve's Superman)? Where did Superman go when he left Metropolis?

Independence Day

Irony: Wearing an "I  <3 all="" celebration="" day="" during="" independence="" intended.="" of="" pun="" sg="" the="" with="">

Yeah, it sounded like a wicked plan. Anticipating the outcome of such a bad joke may have actually partly caused the worst case of anxiety attack I've had in ages. Despite a very long day at work ironing out the semester's schedule for the Trainers' meeting the following day, I was compelled to sweat the night away. Out came the broom and the mop and the living area floor was squeaky clean, Shifu opted to occupy our smelly couch instead. Next came the scrubbing of the toilet and bath. And that is something unheard of in literally years since I have occupied the place.

Freed!

Yeah, the morning went actually well I felt stupid. I did not die from the few civil exchanges that we've had. Surprisingly, tachycardia was absent. So was awkwardness. For that, I am thankful. Another "what if" put to rest.

One thing though, QnQ is missing :(
